Unlawful Harassment Policy

     The Central Washington Catholic Foundation is committed to providing an environment that is free from unlawful harassment.  Harassment, overt or subtle, is a disrespectful form of misconduct that is insulting to others.  Harassment undermines the integrity of life, and the Foundation does not tolerate it in any form.

     For a Trustee, prohibited unlawful harassment includes, but is not limited to, these behaviors when conducted in a sexual nature or because of one's gender:
  •       verbal conduct (such as epithets, making or using derogatory comments, slurs, and jokes; verbal sexual propositions or advances);
  •       verbal abuse of a sexual nature (such as graphic commentaries about an individual's body; sexually degrading words used to describe an individual; or suggestive or obscene letters, notes, or invitations);
  •       visual conduct (such as leering, making sexual gestures, displaying derogatory graphics, either printed or electronic);
  •       physical conduct (such as touching, assault, impeding, or blocking movements);
  •       making sexual advances or threatening reprisals after a negative response to sexual advances;
  •       threats or demands to submit to sexual requests as a condition of continued employment or an offer to extend or deny employment benefits in return for sexual favors;
  •       conduct that is so persistent or severe that it creates an abusive working or living environment.

     If you are harassed, or if you become aware of possible sexual or other unlawful harassment by a Trustee, you should promptly inform the Executive Director or present Chair of the Board of Trustees.

     Once an allegation of unlawful harassment or sexual harassment has been made, the Central Washington Catholic Foundation will conduct a timely investigation.  The investigation will be conducted as confidentially as possible, and its results will be appropriately communicated to those who need to know its outcome.  It is every Trustee's duty to cooperate fully and truthfully in any investigation of unlawful or sexual harassment.
